We have lots of fun restoring our natural heritage to ensure that our children will be able to enjoy it too. As a volunteer you choose your level of input. Volunteering with us gives a unique hands-on opportunity to learn about our environmental treasures. We're a friendly crowd and love meeting new people to share our passion for conservation. Bringing life back to the maunga involves a wide variety of activities – to suit a whole range of different experience, fitness and knowledge levels. If you share a passion for the great outdoors and want to meet like-minded people- join us!
HOW TO CONTRIBUTE
There are four main ways you can contribute:
1.Volunteer for our activities. We put you on an email list so you are notified of fieldwork in your area of interest. Fill out the form below so we can get you into our system. We cater for a wide range of fitness levels.
(Young people under the age of 16 need to be accompanied by an adult who can be responsible for them.)
2. Sponsor a hectare of pest control on Mt Pirongia. This costs from $30 per year and it can be a one-off or annual contribution.
3. Become a member of our society from $10 a year. Read our membership brochure if you are interested.
4. Join our committee. We meet on the 2nd Thursday of the month at our Pirongia Envirocentre, 221 Crozier St, Pirongia starting at 7-30pm
