We are getting back into fun(d)raising again this year after last season’s weather turned many of our plans into rather soggy ones.

We’ll begin the planting season by once again supporting the DOC team with planting at the Whangamarino Wetland site.

The work helps prevent the spread of the pest weed Cuscuta onto adjacent farmland, where it is toxic to stock (though harmless to us), while also helping restore and strengthen wetland vegetation.

All offers of help are welcome - including children, tamariki and rangatahi. These are always enjoyable and social days, and it’s rewarding to see the growth of plantings from previous years.
